Clemons Van Forer's Freedom - Front Cover.png

The story is about an enslaved man named Clemons Van Forer. Joshua, the author, wrote this story to give to his mother on Juneteenth. His grandmother read the story and felt it was worthy of publication.

The main character, Clemons, had heard stories of a man named Tice Davids escaping to freedom from his owner. His owner said that Tice must have escaped through an underground railroad. Clemons dreamed of one day being able to escape with his family. But until that day, he found freedom through the love he and his family had for one another.

Early Learning

During a child's early years is when development is so important. This is a very critical time of mental and mobile skill development, so when you are writing book material in this area, think about how to develop children at this age. Write the language that they can comprehend.

Ages 3 - 5

Children between 3 - 5 like to read books that will help them memorize information.  Repetition is key. Your manuscript should focus on numbers, counting, adding and subtracting objects, along with letters, words and pictures that tells the story.

Ages 5 - 8

Children between 5 - 8 like to read books that will help them develop mentally and physically. Your manuscript should focus on advanced numbers, counting, adding and subtracting objects, along with adding more words to children's vocabulary. Also, think about creating games with words and numbers that can be used on electronic devices because children between this age range are more electronically incline.

Ages 8 - 12

Children between 8-12 like to read books that will help them mature into being a teenager. Your manuscript should focus on learning material of how to be independent, developing in a fast pace society, technology, cooking, preparing for high school and college, etc.

Teach children early that having an education is key to their success and learning how to be safe and make the right decisions will benefit them and those around them.
